Canadia Bank’s Chairman Donated $ 200,000 for Flood Relief

Neak Oknha Dr Pung Kheav Se, Chairman of Canadia Bank Plc., donated US$200,000 to help people affected by the floods, according to Facebook post by Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia on the evening of October 13.

As the floods affected parts of the country, especially in the western and northern provinces, the National Committee for Disaster Management reported that as of Tuesday afternoon of October 13, 11 people had been killed. At least 30,000 families have been affected by the floods.

To contribute in relieving affected people, Dr. Pung Kheav Se, along with many philanthropists, donated their resources. Samdech Techo Hun Sen said that as of 10:27 a.m. of October 14, 2020, the donation to help the people in the floods in Cambodia reached $ 4,510,000. The prime minister said that the budget contributed by the donors will be used for emergency relief through the National Committee for Disaster Management.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen also thanked all donors as well as the relevant ministries, institutions and authorities at all levels for actively saving people in time and would like to continue to take the necessary measures and lead the force to go out to rescue the people.
