Recently, Canadia Bank has won 3 consecutive awards in addition to the award “The SME Bank Cambodia 2020” in June, reflecting unstoppable success and prosperous of Canadia Bank, which has been strongly established in Banking sector for almost 30 years.
Those awards include “Best Retail Bank in Cambodia” from International Excellence in Retail Financial Services Awards 2020, organized by specialized financial institution “The Asian Banker”, organized in Singapore, “Best Domestic Bank”, and “Most Socially Responsible Bank”, organized by International Finance Magazine, where the headquarter is in the United Kingdom.
Canadia Bank has anchored its growth on a strong financial foundation and a healthy balance sheet. It is seeking to make sound digital investments to deliver “enhanced customer experience” to achieve business results. The bank is also working with customers who have been financially affected by COVID-19 in restructuring their loans under the regulation permitted by the National Bank of Cambodia, said The Asian Banker.

Canadia Bank was established on Nov 11, 1991, as“Canadia Gold & Trust Corp Ltd”, a joint-venture between Cambodian-Canadians and the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC). Its management consisted of former staff of the NBC and its Cambodian-Canadian shareholders.
On April 19, 1993, the name was changed to Canadia Bank Ltd and licensed as a commercial bank. On Dec 16, 2003, the name of the bank changed to Canadia Bank Plc.
