Malware Scam via Fake Apps or Links

Malware scams often hide in fake apps or suspicious links. Once downloaded, these malicious programs can steal your personal and banking information without you knowing.

How it works:

  • Scammers trick users into downloading fake mobile banking apps or clicking suspicious links sent via SMS, Facebook, Telegram, or any other social media platforms. These apps secretly install malware that can steal login credentials, read OTPs, or take control of your phone.

Common signs to watch for:

  • You’re asked to download an app from outside the App Store, Play Store, or App Gallery.
  • You receive a message saying, “Your account is blocked, click this link to unlock it.”
  • Your phone starts acting slow or strange after installing a new app.

How to protect yourself:

  • Only download Canadia Bank App from official app stores.
  • Avoid clicking links from unknown numbers or unofficial social media pages.
  • Enable security features like biometric login or app lock.
