Fake Identity / Impersonation Scam

Scammers pose as trusted people to trick you into giving away personal or bank details. Always verify before you act.

How it works:

  • Scammers steal images and details of real Canadia Bank employees, or even of the bank itself, to build fake social media profiles. They then contact you using these stolen identities to appear legitimate and trustworthy, often encouraging you to invest in their schemes, typically related to cryptocurrency.

Common signs to watch for:

  • The sender claims to work at Canadia Bank.
  • The profile may be newly created, with few posts, images, or suspicious friend connections.
  • You may be added to a group filled with people claiming they’ve made large profits by investing. This is meant to pressure you into joining.

How to protect yourself:

  • Report the account to Canadia Bank’s official page, or contact customer service at 023 868 222.
  • Always verify by calling the official number of the bank, not one given in the message.
  • Follow Canadia Bank’s official social media channels to receive real-time updates and verified information.
