POSITION DESCRIPTION 

The DBA Senior Officer is responsible for the overall management and development of the bank's applications, databases, and systems. This includes overseeing the development and implementation of new applications, databases, and systems, managing the application, database, and system support team, and ensuring that the bank's applications, databases, and systems are secure and reliable.

DUTY & RESPONSIBILITY

  • Oversee the development and implementation of new applications, databases, and systems. Manage the application, database, and system support team and ensure that they are meeting their performance goals.
  • Ensure that the bank's applications, databases, and systems are secure and reliable. Monitor and analyze application, database, and system usage data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as business and operations, to understand and meet their application, database, and system needs.
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce application, database, and system downtime.
  • Manage the bank's application, database, and system vendor relationships.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for the management of applications, databases, and systems.
  • Manage and maintain Oracle databases in all production and non-production databases.
  • Maintain the security database and generate reports, queries, and documentation.
  • Manage database elements, including creation, alteration, deletion, and copying of schemas, databases, tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, and triggers.
  • Perform testing and modifying databases to ensure that they operate reliably.
  • Perform backup and recovery and configure database parameters.
  • Manage Oracle Secure Backup and another backup system.
  • Monitor alert log and data synchronization
  • Troubleshooting Oracle-related issues  
  • Monitor the database for resource utilization and migration of the program; handle testing, reporting, and backup/restore.
  • Work with project teams to identify database changes needed.
  • Work with Oracle support to solve Oracle-related issues.
  • Manage Talend Studio tool monitoring, job execution, and troubleshooting-related issues on the Talend Studio tool.
  • Manage day-to-day activities of a team of DBAs.
  • Documents all systems changed/updated
  • Perform other related tasks as required by management. Undertake any other duties that may reasonably be required
  • Contribute to the achievement of the Bank's objectives and goals.
  • Assigns each team member with a specific task and timeline to complete
  • Must undertake other work as assigned and complete it with an accurate report within the deadline.
  • Contribute to the achievement of the bank's objectives and goals.
  • Must strictly adhere to the bank's Code of Conduct, Guidelines, and Human Resources Policies and Procedures to ensure the professionalism of the bank; take immediate action to stop and report to superiors, senior management, and internal control any violations or misconduct.

QUALIFICATION

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related fields.
  • At least 1 year of working experience as a database admin officer, preferably in the banking or microfinance industry.
  • Good understanding about Oracle Database architecture
  • Be able to administer MySQL Cluster, Oracle, and Linux/Sun Solaris OS.
  • Be able to configure replication of MySQL, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.
  • At least 1 year of coding experience in a programming/scripting language such as Java, C#, VB.net, Studio 2017, Crystal Reports, ASP.net, or PHP Node.js (optional).
  • Good English proficiency, both speaking and writing
  • Anticipate and handle critical situations.
  • Ability to thrive in change. Fast, flexible, cooperative work style
  • Be able to work overtime or at night
  • Be able to support a queue system.
  • Be able to support the AML system.
