POSITION DESCRIPTION

Developing and executing trade business strategies aligned with market needs and customer demands. This role focuses on driving trade sales, ensuring seamless execution of trade finance operations, strengthening client relationships, and maintaining compliance with trade finance policies and international regulations. The Head will also provide leadership to the Trade Business team and support the Head of Corporate Banking Division in achieving the department’s objectives.


DUTY & RESPONSIBILITY

1. Trade Business Development & Market Strategy

  • Develop and implement trade business strategies that align with customer and market needs.
  • Set and execute target sales KPI & strategies to bank wide, and monitoring/tracking the branches’ monthly KPI performance to increase trade volume and transactions.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify potential trade opportunities and trends.
  • Develop a strong pipeline for potential trade customers and convert leads into closed deals.
  • Collaborate with internal Business Units to drive cross-selling and trade referrals.
  • Conduct Trade Refreshment to all branches & closely support them by site visit & giving the trade finance with effective solutions to meet trade customer needs.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key clients to expand trade finance business.

2. Trade Sales Management & Team Leadership

  • Ensure transparency in the implementation of the Trade Business plan and sales targets.
  • Lead and oversee the Trade Sales and Operations team, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Conduct regular client visits and consultations to strengthen customer relationships.
  • Follow up with new and existing trade customers to increase trade volumes.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance trade finance product offerings and customer engagement.

3. Trade Finance Operations & Risk Management

  • Review and authorize trade finance transactions and documents per bank policies and compliance standards.
  • Ensure proper post-transaction follow-up activities are completed on time.
  • Review & authorize daily SWIFT In & Out messages to ensure it was complied to international trade rules & regulatory frameworks..
  • Provide advisory services to clients regarding trade finance solutions.
  • Ensure all trade finance operations align with ICC rules and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the preparation of periodic reports for internal use and regulatory compliance (e.g., NBC reporting).
  • Developing and improving trade finance processes, policies, procedures, and others relevant Trade systems.

4. Compliance, Governance & Training

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ICC rules, trade regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to supervisors, senior officers, and officers on ICC trade rules and best practices.
  • Ensure trade operations adhere to all risk management guidelines and internal control policies.
  • Support trade-related projects and initiatives as assigned by the Head of Corporate Banking Division.

QUALIFICATION

  • Master/Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, International Business, Trade Finance or a related field.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in trade finance, trade operations, or related fields in banking sector.
  • Strong knowledge of ICC rules and international trade finance practices.
  • Proven ability to develop trade business strategies and drive sales performance.
  • Experience in team leadership, sales management, and client relationship management.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Khmer (Chinese proficiency is an advantage).
  • Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, under pressure, and as part of a team.
  • High level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism.
